Warts

warts on the skin how to treat

Warts are a skin disease characterized by the formation of small tumor-like growths on the surface of the skin.

The size of the warts is different. The formations can be the size of a needle and can reach the size of a ruble coin.

The disease is viral in nature and is transmitted through direct contact or through household items that are used by both sick and healthy people.

Usually such growths cause psychological discomfort, as often the places of their localization are visible parts of the body. Warts can be treated with pharmaceutical drugs, folk remedies or hardware procedures.

Varieties of warts

  • ordinary (simple) - gray-brown nodes with a round shape with a rough surface. These warts usually appear on the hands, face and scalp. Widespread in both children and adults. Ordinary warts do not cause any pain, but are quite unpleasant from an aesthetic point of view, as they can form entire colonies of tumor-like benign formations;
  • plantar warts - occur, as their name suggests, on the plantar surface. In appearance they resemble corns, consisting of filamentous papillae surrounded by stratum corneum. The reasons why plantar warts appear include the constant pressure of the shoes and the formation of an unfavorable microclimate in the sole area. When walking, such formations deliver painful emotions and need adequate treatment;
  • flat warts are small nodules that barely protrude above the surface of the skin. They have a yellowish or flesh color and are most common in young people. Flat warts form on the hands and face. As a rule, they are absolutely painless;
  • venereal warts (warts) - got their name due to the fact that they are transmitted during sexual intercourse and affect, respectively, the external genitalia.

The main cause of warts in humans is a viral skin lesion. The pathogen is transmitted to healthy people through direct contact with a carrier of the virus or through household items. In addition, sweating of the skin, minor injuries, burns and some other factors can contribute to the disease. For example, plantar warts are easy to identify while visiting the pool or shower in the gym.

Treatment of warts

Currently, methods of combating warts are usually divided into medical and surgical. The first include the use of ointments, the use of antiviral drugs, the use of destructive chemicals. All such actions have a relatively low efficiency and can help only in the case of single formations and even then in the earliest stages. For this reason, modern treatment of warts is based on the use of surgical methods, which in turn are divided into:

  • surgical;
  • cryodestruction methods;
  • radio wave surgery;
  • operations performed using laser technology.

The first two methods are characterized by painful surgery and a long healing period. In addition, if not used properly, they can lead to scarring and recurrence of warts. Radiofrequency and laser surgery overcome these shortcomings and offer patients a quick, bloodless and painless treatment for warts on the hands, feet and other parts of the body.

Warts - a folk remedy

The people have a variety of recipes to remove unpleasant skin growths. Here are the most popular ones:

  • plantar warts are easily removed by applying a cake made from a clove of garlic, 1 teaspoon of vinegar essence and wheat flour. Apply a small amount of this test on the wart and fix it with plaster or bandage. The bandage is removed after 2-3 hours. If it is not gone, the wart removal procedure is repeated. Also keep in mind that small, painful dimples will appear at the site of the fallen formations. An ointment bandage is placed on them, which is worn until the wounds are completely healed;
  • warts on the hands are quickly removed with the help of leaves of Kalanchoe pinnate. Attach them to the warts and bandage them. After 3-4 procedures the warts will disappear;
  • effective mixture, which is prepared from garlic and lard. Spread it on a towel, place it on the wart and fix the bandage with adhesive tape. You need to change the garlic-fat mass every day. The course of treatment is 4-5 days;
  • it has been observed that if the wart is rubbed with sour apple juice every day, then it will begin to decrease in size and disappear completely after about 10 days. Fresh juice from mountain ash or tomatoes has a similar effect;
  • crushed wheatgrass powders have a good result. They must be done daily. You can also mix the powder with lard and get an ointment to remove warts.

Remember that if you have warts, alternative treatments should be agreed with your doctor or experienced homeopath. Do not self-medicate, as this can lead to unexpected and sometimes very unpleasant consequences.
